Evagelia Shinaraki – Iliaki

A PERSONAL ACQUAINTANCE

She was born in Petrokefali Kenourgiou in Crete.

Her family has many children. She is the third child. Her father was immigrant to Germany.

She is married to George Shinaraki who is teacher. They have got two children. Michael graduated from the Economic University of Peirea and Maria studies Architecture.

STUDIES

1. She is a graduate of Pedagogic School.

2. She is a graduate of Pedagogic Department of Primary Education of Kapodistriako University of Athens

3. She is Doctor of Sociology School of Panteio University of Athens.

PARLIAMENTARY ACTIVITIES

1. She was elected Deputy of Heraklion with the party of Pasok in the elections of 2000-2004.

2. She was Dean in the presiding board of Parliament. (March 2004-October 2006)

3. She is Deputy Coordinator of educative affairs in the party of Pasok from March 2005.

4. She is member of the Permanent Committee for educative affairs in Parliament (2000-20004 & 2004 until nowadays).

5. She is member of the Specialized Permanent Committee of emigrant Hellenism (2005 until nowadays)

6. She was member of Specialized Committee in the library of Parliament (2004-2006)

7. She was member of international Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (2004-2006)

8. She was member of Permanent Committee in Public administration and decentralization of Parliament (2004-2005)

9. She was President of the Orthodox and Religion Committee in Parliament (2001-2004)

10. Member of the presiding board in the parliament team of Pasok (2002-2004)

POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

•  She was elected Prefect of Heraklion (October 2006)

•  She was elected in the Union of Prefectural Administration of Greece (February 2007)

•  She is elected as vice-president in the educational institute from its establishment in September 2004 until today.

•  She was elected as vice president in the administrative council of Greek teaching federation.(1997-2000)

• She was elected as representative of teachers and kindergarten teachers (1990-1994)

•  She was second secretary in the prefectural committee of Pasok in the Prefecture of Heraklion (1993-1996)

• She was Prefectural counselor in the prefecture of Heraklion (1995-1998)

• She was member of the general council of "ADEDY" [1] and secretary of women's "ADEDY" (1995-2000)

• She was member of the central committee in the party of Pasok (1996-2005)

• She is member of the national council of Pasok (2005 until nowadays)

• She is deputy secretary of organized sector of Pasok

• She was vice-president in the institute of Greek pedagogic researches and studies of teaching federation (1997-2000)
